Verizon has officially announced the LG Enact, a 4-inch smartphone that features a slide-out QWERTY keyboard and 4G LTE connectivity and costs only $20 on-contract.*
Well, that was quick. Not a day has passed since a leaked press image gave us a look at the LG Enact for Verizon, and the carrier has decided to make the device official. The Enact is as run-of-the-mill as other Android mid-rangers, but that physical QWERTY is something that will let it stand out from the crowd in a time when phones with slide-out keyboards are hard to come by.
In terms of specs, the Enact is powered by a*1.2GHz dual-core Snapdragon 400 processor, and flaunts a 4-inch WVGA (800 x 840) display, a 5-megapixel rear camera with 1080p video recording, VGA shooter on the front, 8GB of built-in memory and a microSD slot, and a large 2,460 battery to keep the lights on. The QWERTY slider runs on Android 4.1.2, along with*LG’s software customizations like VuTalk, Quick Translator, QSlide 2.0, QuickMemo, Smart Screen, and more.
The LG Enact has been priced at $19.99 with the usual two-year contract ($349.99 when bought outright). Don’t expect to see this in other markets or carriers, though if it does, expect a name change to accompany it.
