Peter Molyneux’s latest crowdfunding game, Godus, is entering beta on September 13th through Steam’s Early Access. Godus was first announced on Kickstarter and went on to make $750,000.
Peter Molyneux’s 22cans studio announced today that Godus will be available through Steam’s Early Access*program for $19.99. It will be available on both Windows and Mac. In an interview, Molyneux said, “I think Godus is going to be the best game I’ve ever worked on. Fable was an epic RPG, but I think the best, most obsessively designed game I’ve ever done is Godus. It’s the game I’ve played the most, for sure.”
In Godus, you play a god, and are tasked with guiding a civilisation from primitive origins to the Space Age. You will initially have abilities like sculpting the land, but as your followers grow, so will your powers. And as civilizations progress, their motivations also change, and the more advanced the civilization gets, the more they start questioning their beliefs in Gods.
The game also has a unique multiplayer mode. As you make progress through civilizations with your followers, other players will also be doing the same, and since all players are on the same world, there should be a lot of interesting battles scenarios. Here’s the beta trailer:
Godus will also make its way onto iOS on October 31st and Android on November 14th.
