Just as everyone thought the Sony Xperia Z1 (aka Honami) rumor bonanza was bound to stop, since there appeared to be nothing left unraveled, two reports from China appeared on our doorsteps, bringing nothing really new to the table, but refusing to go unnoticed nevertheless.
The juiciest is by far the one starring the actual phone in the flesh, this time with no distractions, comparisons or blurriness to it. Granted, the Z1 caught on camera doesn’t appear to be a working unit, but rather a dummy model, but as far as the design goes it should be identical to the real thing.
Assuming that’s the case, we’re dealing, as expected, with a stylish yet robust slab of silicon, very close in terms of design language to the Xperia Z.
You can’t really tell the materials used for the manufacturing of the Z1 (the best guesstimate is plastic and glass), but at least the new pics bring further proof the 5-incher rocks a top-notch rear camera with G Lens, a very sleek side power button and an overall industrial look, with sharp edges and generous bezels.
Moving on, it appears Sony is tying up some loose ends in order to make the Xperia Z1 available as soon as possible after the next week unveiling at IFA. Namely, the Japanese have asked and received green light from China’s Tenaa, a regulatory agency similar to the FCC.
The certification documents have brought to light a number of other snapshots of the device, but no specs. Oh, well, we have the scoop for you in the technical and number department regardless and here it is in all its glory:
