Metro: Last Light heading to Mac, Linux

4A Games announced that they are currently developing a Mac version of Metro: Last Light which would be available next month, with a Linux version scheduled for later this year.


Metro: Last Light will be available via Steam and the Mac App Store starting September 10th. In a statement yesterday, 4A Games’ CTO Oles Shishkovstov said, “The Mac and Linux versions of Metro: Last Light are further testimony to the power and flexibility of the 4A Engine. We hope that Mac & Linux gamers will appreciate our efforts to create the best possible version for their machines.”

4A Games is developing the Mac and Linux version of the game in-house. While the release date has not yet been announced for the Linux version, it is scheduled to be out before the end of the year. 4A Games has also mentioned that the Mac and Linux versions will get all the DLCs that were released on the Windows version, which currently include Season Pass, Faction Pack and Tower Pack.*Metro: Last Light*on Steam will feature*Steam Play, which means that users who bought the Windows version of the game on Steam automatically get access to the game on other platforms.

Deep Silver, the publisher of the game, announced during Gamescon last week that the Metro franchise will continue, and that subsequent titles will feature elements that make it more accessible to a broader audience of gamers.
