BLU is a Florida-based mobile manufacturer that is known for making affordable handsets. Today, it has announced a new line of mobiles in the Dash series, the most affordable of which is available for $49 unlocked.

BLU has announced three new devices in the Dash range of mobiles. The most affordable is the Dash*Jr., which is available for just $49 and comes in different color combinations. For the amount of money it costs, the Dash*Jr. features fairly decent hardware. It comes with a 1GHz processor, 3.5-inch screen with a resolution of 480X320, 2 MP camera, 512 MB internal memory, and a 1,000 mAh battery. The device runs Android 2.3 Gingerbread, which can only be described as archaic.

Dash*Music 4.0 is the second device in the series, and as the name suggests, features a four-inch screen with a resolution of 800X480. It also includes a 1.3GHz dual-core processor, 3.2 MP camera, 4 GB of internal memory with a micro-SD card slot and a 1,500 mAh battery. The device runs Android 4.2 Jelly Bean and is available unlocked for just $99.

The Dash*Music 5.0 features the same internal hardware as the Music*4.0, but with a bigger 5-inch screen with 854X480 resolution and a 5 MP camera at the back along with a larger 2,000mAh battery. The Music*5.0 will be sold for $129 unlocked.

All these devices will be available in over 30 Latin American countries and will be sold via Amazon and Best Buy in the U.S.
