Love Live! fans celebrate Umi day

July 21, 2014 in Japan is*Marine Day, or Umi-no-hi, a Japanese national holiday which celebrates the importance of the ocean to Japanese culture. In Japanese, the Ocean (or sea) means Umi, and guess which*μ’s member from Love Live! is named after the ocean?*


Come on, let’s say it*-Umi-dah! As Love Livers are known as one of the most dedicated anime fans on Earth, they have taken a unique spin on this Ocean holiday. Here’s Animate Utsonomiya sharing their unique “Umi day” display


Gamers Akihabara also joined in on the Umi Day celebrations.
