Japan launches its latest anti-piracy measure: MAG Project



Japan’s**Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) officially launched its*MAG(Manga-Anime Guardians) Project today.*This movement*aims to stop piracy by getting fans enjoy their favorite anime or manga*only through legal means.

According to a statement released by METI, the ministry*will start monitoring and removing copies*of arounf*580 anime and manga works illegally distributed online.

The official website of the*Manga-Anime Guardians*Project (http://ift.tt/1oEO0Bo) lists*these works and provides links to legal distributors.

Aside from launching the website, a special video clip was uploaded via YouTube. The video contains anime and manga characters saying “Thank you” in Japanese:
