The 2014 Spring anime season is already upon us and surely enough, people in Japan are watching them not only in the TV’s and computers but also with their PlayStation 3 consoles using the Torne*digital recording device.
Now, Sony has released the*initial*Tornado anime rankings for the Spring 2014 season which has recorded how many people watch which anime using Torne. Here are their findings:

Unsurprisingly, Jojo takes the top spot in the Tornado Rankings beating out the highly-hyped new anime, Irregular At Magic High School which itself gets the #2 spot. Maybe this has to do with the fact that many people were turned off with*Irregular At Magic High School’s incest tendencies?One of the biggest surprises with the Torne rankings is that*yuri anime Riddle Story of Devil takes the #3 spot beating out favorites like Black Bullet, GochiUsa and If Her Flag Breaks. Seems like 2014 is a huge year for yuri as 2014 has already produced 3 official anime from the Girls Love genre. Even so, Riddle Story of Devil’s high octane action and suspense have captivated a lot of fans, many of which have ignored the series’ blatantly lesbian relationship between the main characters.Perhaps the biggest surprise of the rankings is the exclusion of several big name anime series in the Tornado top 20. These series are Love Live!, Mekaku City Actors, Mushishi, Soul Eater Not! and Date A Live which came into the season with a lot of hype. Maybe people would rather watch these series in their computers or in their TV’s.
