Despite being one of the earliest supporters of BlackBerry’s gesture-based smartphone OS, T-Mobile is reportedly looking to stop selling BlackBerry 10 phones in its stores.
Things aren’t going well for BlackBerry. The company is reportedly on the verge of being sold off to a private firm, and its market share in the U.S. recently dropped to merely a percent, pointing at signs of the Canadian company disappearing into the ether in the near future. Now, it seems like things are about to get even rougher, as T-Mobile has reportedly decidedly to stop selling all BlackBerry 10 phones in its stores.

My manager told me the other day that all blackberry 10 devices will now be only available via direct ship. I work at a corporate store in Cleveland I have to go check the Email but I’m not sure if this has just affected NorthEast Ohio.
Other users on the CrackBerry forums have confirmed that this is not an isolated move, and that T-Mobile will be taking BB10 devices off the shelves nationwide, suggesting that sales have been extremely disappointing. A boycott by one of North America’s biggest carriers might prove to be the final blow BlackBerry needs to become totally irrelevant in the smartphone race, with traditionally strong BlackBerry markets also seeing the OS’ rise grinding to a halt over the past few months.
Microsoft’s Windows Phone stands to gain the most out of T-Mobile’s decision, as it might soon emerge the victor in its battle with BlackBerry for the third spot in the U.S. market share. But for BlackBerry aficionados and users, it’s a worrying development, one that BlackBerry won’t be able to do much about, especially if devices like the Z30 are all they have to offer in the coming months.
What do you guys think? Do you think the tides might still change for BlackBerry, or is it the end of the line for the once king of the smartphone world?
