'Batman: Arkham Origins' Initiation DLC will focus on Bruce Wayne's early training

The upcoming DLC for Batman’s latest outing will allow gamers to step into the shoes of Bruce Wayne before he became Batman.

Batman: Arkham Origins isn’t even out yet, and everyone is already talking about all the downloadable content we can look forward to.

The game’s publisher, Warner Bros. Interactive, recently revealed what we can expect from the Arkham Origins Season Pass, but now*producer Guillaume Voghel has gone into further detail about the story-based add on dubbed “Initiation”.

The DLC focuses on Bruce Wayne’s training in Asia where he learned the art of becoming an agent of the darkness. “That’s a really cool one,” Voghel told Eurogamer. “Narratively there’s some added content that will give players a little more background story. [But] it’s not League of Assassins, it’s ninja-related. It’s when he learned to be a ninja and learned those techniques.”

Since this marks the first time in the Arkham series of games that the Caped Crusader will be stepping outside of Gotham, custom content was created especially for the DLC.

Voghel went on to give some details about how long gamers can expect to be occupied with Arkham Origins’ main campaign. Completing all the story missions and side quests will take around 12 hours, while seeing everything the game has to offer will take considerably longer. He also talked about the game’s hardest difficulty setting – I Am The Night mode – which gives you only one life to complete the game. What’s more, you cannot save your progress.

Talk about being Batman.

Batman: Arkham Origins will be out for the PS3, Xbox 360, PC and Wii on the 25th of October.
