Nokia Lumia 630 caught on video demoing Windows Phone 8.1 features

Leaked videos reveal upcoming Windows Phone functionality and one of Nokia’s first Windows Phone 8.1 smartphone.

Windows Phone 8.1 has been leaked quite a few times in the past few months, and the leaks are continuing today with videos showcasing more Windows Phone 8.1 features. The videos also gives us a live glimpse at Nokia’s Lumia 630, which will be unveiled as one of two devices running on the latest version of the OS at Microsoft’s BUILD conference next month, where Windows Phone 8.1 will be officially announced.

The Lumia 630 is expected to be*the first Windows Phone device with dual-SIM, dual-standby functionality, and should be equipped with a 4.5-inch 854×480 display, quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor, 1GB of RAM, a 5-megapixel camera on the back without flash, and 8GB of internal storage.*The video reveals the handset as having on-screen navigation buttons, support for which is being added to the OS to reduce manufacturing costs and, in turn, drive adoption of Windows Phone – the hardware on the Lumia 630 suggests it will be a cross between the Lumia 625 and the Lumia 520, though it remains to be seen where Nokia will position it when it comes to pricing.

A second video demos an oft-requested feature since the first Windows Phone handset came to market – support for wallpapers on the Start screen. Users will be able to choose from preloaded wallpapers or personal images from their social networks and camera roll, and the selected image will skin Live Tiles that are present on the Start screen. Also shown in the video is the presence of a “Show more Tiles” option in settings – the video doesn’t exactly show how this works, but it is expected to let users toggle*between two or three columns of Tiles (for 5-inch and larger handsets, an option for selecting four columns should be present.)
