Two days, five hours and counting. That’s what’s left at the time of this writing until Samsung will finally take the wraps off the Galaxy Note III, Galaxy Gear and maybe even the Note 12.2.
And with so little left, speculating as to the looks, specs and prices of those gadgets sounds pretty pointless, right? It might, only the alternative could be downright painful – silently and patiently waiting for their unveilings to go down.
Don’t know about you, but I’d rather speculate some more. For instance, let’s take a look at the above image. Posted on a Korean website as a concept based on previously leaked pics of the Note 3, it’s probably as close as we’ll ever get to an official press shot. Unless @evleaks has a say in it.
Right as everyone with knowledge of the third-gen phablet has hinted, the Note 3’s curves are almost non-existent, as are its bezels. Samsung’s iconic physical home button is present as usual, the capacitive back and menu keys surround it, while the back cover is plain, simple, but a tad less cheap-looking than before.
Again, this is an unofficial render of the device, so you shouldn’t take it for granted, but seeing as it even rocks that artsy lockscreen wallpaper revealed not long ago, I can’t see why we should discard or disregard it.
Meanwhile, a Russian blog with a rock-solid reputation for rumors of this kind estimates the Note 3 will cost around 29,990 rubles around those parts when available. That’s roughly 900 US bucks, which I’m afraid is a little on the expensive side of things.
Of course, Russians are known for having to pay a premium for any high-ender that lands there, so even if the intel proves legit, it doesn’t necessarily mean Americans will have to cough up more than $700 for the GNote 3.

And in a somewhat unrelated note, the Galaxy Gear is tipped by the same Eastern European website to cost $450 (14,990 rubles) in Russia. Again a pretty penny, but again not indicative of the gizmo’s pricing structure stateside.
