Tokyo Ghoul live-action movie has found its Ken Kaneki in Masataka Kubota

Ladies and gentlemen, the upcoming live-action movie adaptation of Sui Ishida’s popular horror manga, Tokyo Ghoul, has finally revealed the actor who will be playing its iconic half-ghoul lead, Ken Kaneki, and it is none other than Masataka Kubota, who previously played Light Yagami in the live-action Death Note TV drama.
Kubota will be starring alongside Japanese actress,*Fumika Shimizu, who will be playing the film’s female lead, Touka Kirishima, who is an actual ghoul.*Principal photography will begin next month and end in September.
Previously, the movie adaptation was announced in the jacket cover of the Tokyo Ghoul: re manga’s Volume 7 cover, though it did not reveal much detail about the film itself.
Since this is now official,*Tokyo Ghoul is the latest among many popular manga and anime that are recently getting live-action movie adaptations, like Rurouni Kenshin, Lupin III, Assassination Classroom, Parasyte, Attack on Titan, and the upcoming Full Metal Alchemist movie.
