Sports*anime Yowamushi Pedal has raised the popularity of cycling in Japan, with many fans taking up the sport when the anime first aired. Now, a bicycle shop in*Ikebukuro known as Y’s Road has*teamed up with the cycling anime to promote the sport as they displayed some of their merchandise alongside some of the series’ characters.

They even featured series antagonist Midosuji. I surely hope he doesn’t scare off customers as he is considered by many fans to be scarier and creepier than Seijurou Akashi from Kuroko’s Basketball.
Y’s Road wasn’t the only ones who featured the series in their store. Animate Ikebukuro, which is a known hang-out for female anime fans, also displayed some of the Yowamushi pedal characters last April 2014. The exhibition featured life-size standees, autographed jerseys and artworks from the original manga.
