Men and women tend to have differing views when it comes to certain things and anime is certainly no different. There are some series like High School DXD and Senran Kagura which are more likely to be watched by males while series like Sailor Moon and Free! are more likely to be watched by females.
Japanese anime website has recently conducted*two different surveys with one asking men wile the other asked women on which Spring 2014 anime series do they like to watch the most. The voting period was done from May 7-20, 2014 which means the Spring season anime are*already in their middle stages.

FEMALE SURVEY RESULTS:10) Still, The World is Beautiful 9) No Game, No Life 8) Yowamushi Pedal 7) Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders 6) Mushishi Zoku-shou 5) Kamigami no Asobi 4) Mekaku City Actors 3) One Week Friends 2) The Irregular at Magic High School 1) Haikyuu! MALE SURVEY RESULTS:10) Love Live! 9) Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders 8) Nanana’s Buried Treasure 7) Knights of Sidonia 6) Nisekoi 5) Brunhildr in the Darkness 4) Black Bullet 3) One Week Friends 2) No Game, No Life 1) The Irregular At Magic High School
Looks like males and females strongly agree that*The Irregular At Magic High School and One Week Friends are two of the strongest contenders this Spring 2014 season as both series make it to the top 3 for both the male and female surveys. No Game, No Life on the other hand has a stronger male fan base as guys have voted for it more than the girls with the anime taking the #2 spot for the male survey but only the #9 spot for the female survey.Volleyball anime Haikyuu! has continued to wow the female audience by taking first place in their poll. Though the original manga series, which is serialized in Weekly Shounen Jump!, was originally intended for the male demographic, the series seems to have found a place in the hearts of many females much like a certain basketball series known as Kuroko’s Basketball. One of the biggest surprises in the survey however is that Love Live! only settled in at #10 in the male survey results. The anime came in to the season as one of the clear favorites but seems to have lost quite a bit of steam as of late. Many fans seem to be dissatisfied with how the series is going lately and say that it is a bit too dragging.
