Gundam Seed director vents frustrations over late night TV anime censorship

Gundam Seed director Mitsuo Fukuda criticises and expresses his dissatisfaction towards the present state of the Japanese anime industry via his Twitter account. According to the director, late night anime shows are becoming boring due to the heavy censorship laid down*on them.

Fukuda felt that if Gundam Seed was produced at present, all TV regulations in Japan would have been imposed on the show, and will eventually render Flay’s episode useless.

Considering that Gundam Seed had mature themes and portrayals of intense violence and combat, you’d understand why the Gundam director had these sentiments about the present state of anime censorship.
