The update enables Apple Pay and brings a slew of bug fixes.
As Apple had promised, iOS 8.1 has started rolling out to the iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch. The biggest feature in iOS 8.1 is Apple Pay, which will let users pay for goods inside apps by swiping their finger over the fingerprint sensor, and also pay in stores by tapping their phones to card readers (using NFC, which made its debut on the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus.)
The new release of iOS brings access to iCloud Photo Library so that users can store their actual images on the cloud, SMS support for iPads and Macs through Continuity, and an option to select between 2G, 3G and LTE data on mobile networks. The update also brings back Camera Roll for accounts with iCloud Photo Library, and fixes Wi-Fi issues that were plaguing iPhone and iPad users on iOS 8.0 to 8.0.2.
