Press images of the red Nexus 5 leak, availability might still be an issue

Google might launch the red version of the Nexus 5 by February 4,*with a yellow color variant likely in the works.

The Nexus 5 is all set to get a new color variant. The press images of the device have been leaked by the ever reliable @evleaks, and if leaks out of Vietnam are any indication, a yellow color variant is on the way.

Last week, a video on YouTube showcased the Google Play Store listing of the Nexus 5 in a bevy of colors, and while the authenticity of that video was in question almost immediately, the red Nexus 5 leaked a day later in Vietnam. The YouTube video indicated that the Nexus 5 will be available in a total of six new colors in addition to the white and black versions.

There has been no official confirmation from Google yet, but leaked internal documents from Sprint indicate that the device might be available as early as February 4th. Ever since the Nexus 4, Google has had a difficult time of stocking Nexus handsets, and they are generally known to sell out within an hour of availability. It is more than likely that the red version will be similarly sold out once it debuts next week.
