'A Silent Voice' anime adaptation in development



A Silent Voice, the award-winning manga by*Yoshitoki Ōima, is getting an anime adaptation. The final chapter which goes out*this Wednesday reveals that the anime adaptation is in its planning stages.

The story follows*a hearing impaired girl named Shōko Nishimiya and a class bully Shoya Ishida. At first, the whole class was bullying Shoko but after a turn of events, Shoya became the one who was bullied. Years have passed and Shoya feels the need to meet the Shoko once again.

A Silent Voice received the “Best Rookie Manga” award in 2008 but was only published three years later due to*its sensitive subject matter. It then*began its serialisation in Bessatsu Shōnen Magazine*last year.
