The anime will follow 17-year old Yuuta*Gamon, who runs an occult blog known as*“Choujou Kagaku Kirikiri Basara,” and it brings together nine different individuals, including Yuuta himself. Several paranormal events are happening between these nine individuals, and these may alter reality itself.

While the title of the series is akin to the science adventure titles,*Shikura has stated that this Occultic;Nine is not a part of the Science Adventure Series, which include*Chaos; Head, Steins; Gate, Robotics; Notes, and Chaos; Child. The original light novels have also inspired a game adaptation, as well as a manga.
