Tsutomu Mizushima is one of the best and most famous anime directors in Japan today, and his works, like*xxxHOLiC, Prison School, Another, Squid Girl, and many others are still being celebrated today.
Japanese media website, Akiba Souken, has recently conducted a poll based on Mizushima’s many works, and asked fans to weigh in on the one they think is the very best. A total of*2589 votes were made, and they all ranked 18 of his animated works, and here’s what they had to say:

Shirobako hits quite close to home for Mizushima, who used his experiences with past works, like #2-ranked Girls und Panzer, to create what many consider his masterpiece.Girls und Panzer meanwhile took #2 for a reason, despite all the delays.
