Kyary Pamyu Pamyu promotes Nintendo's New 3DS

The New 3DS isn’t hitting the shelves of most countries until 2015, it’s due to hit Japan on October 11 and Kyary Pamyu Pamyu has teamed up with Nintendo to promoted the cute side of the hand held.

The New 3Ds may seem a little plain coming in just white or black varieties but thanks to the new commercial featuring Kyary Pamyu Pamyu and some rather familiar faces from Nintendo, it proves itself to offer many more colors than just that with interchangeable faceplates.

Kyary’s ability to turn all things kawaii shows itself right from the start when she powers up Mario into a super striped version.

She also meets up with the Hero of Time, Link, and everyone’s favorite Pokemon, Pikachu, and gives them a fashion makeover.

When it comes to a character like Kirby who’s already cute she misses the chance as he absorbs her ability and transform her outfit.

Together they tackle the rest of the Nintendo universe and, well, you can see the results are all very cute.

The faceplate designs are also going to be complemented by themes for the 3DS home menu, so the inside can match the outside.

Which one would you want on your New 3DS?

Motorola Nexus 6 all but confirmed after new round of credible speculation

Google may still be trying to keep it a secret until Android L (Lollipop?) is done and dusted, but the Motorola-made Nexus 6 is an open book already.

I remember it as it if happened yesterday. The first Motorola Shamu-centric rumor. At the time, no one really knew how to react. On one hand, it was certainly pleasing to hear further confirmation on the continuation of the Nexus program.

Also, we couldn’t be happier vis-à-vis Google’s choice for its new hardware partner, following LG’s retirement. Then again, 5.9 inches felt a little extreme for a product lineup that generally receives only one refresh every 12 months..

Unless this year, we’re looking at two. The 5.9 incher and, say, a more pocketable 5, 5.2 incher. Only as time passed, plausible intel on the so-called Nexus 6 or Nexus X piled up, and nothing, literally nothing of substance emerged in regards to a smaller version.

Then, 9To5Google went on record with the most comprehensive Shamu-related report, leaving the speculation door open to a… Nexus 5 Plus? Nexus 6 mini? But now Android Police crushes our every hope, also adding precious inside information to the N6 pile.

According to AP, since “absolutely nothing credible about a smaller Nexus phone this year” came to their attention, the odds of such a handheld being in the pipeline are a million to one.

Meanwhile, the Nexus 6 gets a 9 out of 10 confidence level, likely sporting a mouth-watering Quad HD display with 496 ppi and gigantic “3,200+” mAh battery. So yeah, a capacity over the 3,200 mark is a possibility.

A near certainty is the “Shamu” will support Motorola’s innovative new turbo charger accessory, thus being capable of lasting around 8 hours of typical use after a minimal 15-minute charging session. And things just keep getting better and better once you add the 13 MP OIS rear camera in the equation, the front-facing stereo speakers and 2014 Moto X-style aluminum frame.

Intriguingly, there’s no mention of the on-board processor or RAM this time around, but hopefully, that doesn’t mean Google is having second thoughts about going for the top-shelf Snapdragon 805 and 3 GB. Oh, and just for the record, both images used to illustrate the Nexus 6 are mere product renders based on gossip and assumptions, not actual live pics starring the device.

It's official, iPhone 6 and 6 Plus availability starts October 17 in China

A little later than previously rumored, but clearly, it could have been much worse.

Apple may have lost one or two battles the past week or so, getting its reputation tarnished by a somewhat blown-out-of-proportion #bendgate scandal and iOS 8 glitch brouhaha, plus yielding the head start on Chinese sales to Samsung’s Galaxy Note 4, yet the fate of the war remains unchanged.

Nothing and no one can touch the popularity of “the biggest advancements in iPhone history”, and if you thought iPhone 6 and 6 Plus sales numbers looked mind-blowing before, wait until the two take the world’s largest handheld market by storm.

And yes, China used to be all about low-cost devices. But lately, folks around those parts have begun caring more and more about things like premium build quality and social status, and the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus offer them both.

So no, it doesn’t sound like it’ll be such a hassle for iFans to cough up RMB 5,288 and up. That’s the equivalent of $860, mind you, so needless to say pundits and tipsters were horribly wrong when predicting the iPhone 6 would ape the price structure of the 5s from last year.

Not even close. The 5s was available for roughly $130 less. Once again though, people will pay as much as it takes, so RMB 6,888 ($1,121) for the 128 GB variant, or RMB 6,088 ($990) for the 16 GB iPhone 6 Plus shouldn’t be a problem.

As far as the exact timetable goes, both the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus will be up for pre-orders online on October 10, with reservations for in-store pick-up open four days later. Finally, October 17 shall see the gold, silver and space gray models end up on store shelves, doorsteps and the sweaty, grubby, excited hands of iFans, with cellular service offered by all three of the nation’s major networks: China Mobile, Telecom and Unicom.
