Evangelion 01 and Mecha Godzilla combine for new collaboration with 7-Eleven

The not-so-surprising collaboration between Hideaki Anno’s classic mecha anime, Neon Genesis Evangelion, and Hideaki Anno’s new kaijuu movie, Godzilla Resurgence, continues, and this time, convenience store chain, 7-Eleven is entering the fray with a brand new figure, featuring Mecha Godzilla donning Eva-01’s signature colors.
Using Bandai’s*Movie Monster Series version of Mecha Godzilla (Kiryuu), 7-Eleven is distributing only 4,000 of these figures, which will be coming along with movie tickets that are pre-ordered in their convenience stores. Made of PVC, each figure measures in at 17cm in height and are scheduled for release on 29 July 2016. They are now completely sold out, as they went on sale last May 2.Originally launched as a joke during April Fools’ Day, the collaboration has gotten a bit more serious with a Banpresto Ichiban Kuji*collaboration.

They're Back! Tenchi Muyo Season 4 reveals new visual, Fall 2016 launch, and more

A decade after the third season has ended, and after the success of the*Ai: Tenchi Muyo series,*Tenchi Masaki is back with a “fourth season,” which is titled*Tenchi Muyo! Ryo Ohki Dai-yon-ki. New announcements have been made about this new anime by the series’ official website, which also reveals a new key visual image:
The key visual is done by the series’ original character designer, Masaki Kajishima, who certainly brings some old school feel into the anime. Kajishima will not only return as the character designer, but he is also credited as the new anime’s**original creator and chief director, with*Hidetoshi Takahashi serving as the director, and Studio AIC handling the animation.
This new Tenchi Muyo “season”*is actually a*series of*OVA and not a TV anime, and the official website has announced that the first OVA is scheduled to be released in Fall 2016.*Tenchi Muyo! Ryou Ohki is a series of spin-off OVAs for Tenchi Muyo! which had its first series*launched being launched between 1992 and 1993, the second series being launched between 1994 and 1995, and the third series being launched between 2003 and 2005, which was a decade ago.
